This project was for alterations to the existing basement to include the addition of two light wells. Other works would include, ground and first floor remodelling to include the addition of two first floor windows.

The timing of commencing construction for the approved works for this project could not have been any worse. There was an extremely rainy spell in the spring months of 2020 that made excavation works in the basement impossible and compromised structural stability to existing masonry structures. Due to proximity to the the river Trent, the hight of the water table arising from continuous rainfall was such that that any digging would result in water continuously filling the basement and work having to seize until further notice.

Once weather conditions improved, our appointed contractor was able to prioritise basement works to successfully complete our client's cinema room. Subsequent works to the upper floors of the house followed in the kitchen, lounge, office and master bedroom until the entire project was completed to create a beautiful family home with eye-catching fixtures and fittings.
