Marshall Terrace
Marshall Street, Sherwood, Nottingham | 2024

Application Reference 23/00008/PFUL3 - Nottingham City Council Granted 26th June 2024

This allocated development site is located within a popular residential suburb of Nottingham City, the existing grounds of the development site are currently occupied by a terrace block of Victorian workshops and garages that formally served local residents when they were in demand.

In our approach to designing the development proposal, we were encouraged by the need for new quality housing and the consideration that the demolition of the existing buildings/structures currently occupying the allocated development site for replacement by 4 terraced dwellings with off-street parking and private bin stores to be a highly positive proposal for the allocated development site and surrounding residential area.

The proposed development is reflective of the scale and density of the existing adjacent properties on Wisa Terrace and we feel the traditional design features with modern highlights and varied pallet of high quality materials in relation to the local vernacular, will make the proposed development an asset to the area. Besides the importance of providing additional homes, we feel strongly that the aesthetic value of the serving street and surrounding area will be greatly enhanced by our approved proposed development.

The design approach taken has been developed in full recognition of the period character of existing surrounding buildings and the importance of a sensitive and considered solution to the client’s requirements whilst respectfully adhering to statutory norms that align with the provision of family houses on brownfield sites of this type.
